PHYSICAL PROCESSING PRODUCTION LINE
Taiwan’s 1st enclosed crushing and processing line for lithium-ion batteries is engineered to mitigate the emission of particulate matter and electrolyte solvents generated during mechanical comminution. The integrated system comprises sequential units including crushing, magnetic separation, particle sieving, and gravity-based density separation. This facilitates the recovery of high-purity black mass, stainless steel fragments, copper granules, and aluminum granules. The system exhibits the following technical features:
A proprietary inert gas protection and regulation system significantly enhances operational safety by suppressing thermal and chemical reactivity during battery crushing operation.
The fully enclosed air capture and solvent condensation system enables the effective recovery of volatilized electrolyte. The recovered solvents, after purification, are suitable for reintegration into lithium-ion battery manufacturing processes, contributing to substantial reductions in product carbon footprint.
The implementation of a multi-stage magnetic separation module ensures that iron content in the recovered black mass is maintained below 1 ppm, thereby enhancing the efficiency and selectivity of downstream hydrometallurgical recovery processes and improving the quality of extracted metals.
Gravity separation enables the efficient differentiation of copper and aluminum granules, achieving copper recovery rate of up to 97% and aluminum recovery rate of approximately 86%
The total material recovery efficiency of the line exceeds 95%, with recovered products demonstrating high purity and market value, thereby significantly improving the overall economic feasibility of lithium-ion battery recycling operations.
BATTERY PACK POTENTIAL AND RESISTANCE SCANNING SYSTEM
Equipped with automated execution of incoming inspection for battery packs, while operating the system autonomously generates QR code labels for each unit, enabling full traceability throughout the processing history. Simultaneously, the system measures the voltage and internal resistance of each battery pack, providing essential data to guide subsequent discharge procedures and workflows.
BATTERY PACK ENERGY TRANSFER AND RECOVERY SYSTEM
Residual energy from battery packs is recovered and converted into 220V AC power, which can be used to supply electricity for recycling process equipment. The conversion efficiency from DC (direct current) to AC (alternating current) reaches up to 89%. The entire process is non-polluting and contributes to a reduction in internal electricity consumption, thereby lowering the carbon emissions associated with the recycling process.
METAL-ION EXTRATION PIPELINE
Utilizing extraction technology developed by WASTE Recovery Technology Inc., the continuous extraction process enables the production of high-purity copper, cobalt, and nickel extract solutions. The acids used in the process are fully recyclable, eliminating the issue of waste acid discharge. Following upstream physical processing for impurity removal, the secondary extraction stage can achieve metal ion purities above 99.5%, which also significantly reducing extraction and separation time. The overall metal recovery efficiency exceeds 98%.
The system adopts a smart production and control system which pair with the electroplating pipeline, featuring fully automated, continuous 24-hour operation with real-time remote monitoring. No on-site personnel are required, enabling high-efficiency and unmanned production.
ELECTROPLATING PRODUCTION LINE
High-purity metal ion solutions are directly and continuously transferred from the extraction pipeline, enabling the direct production of high-purity copper, cobalt, and nickel metals.
The system adopts a smart production and control system which pair with the metal-ion extraction pipeline, featuring fully automated, continuous 24-hour operation with real-time remote monitoring. No on-site personnel are required, enabling high-efficiency and unmanned production.
